Crystal Palace had been dealt a major blow of their rumoured pursuit of Brighton defender Lewis Dunk after the Championship club established they've no intention of promoting.
"we now have acquired a bid for Lewis Dunk and it has been very firmly rejected with none dialogue," chief executive Paul Barber told the Argus.
"we're very busy assembling - and quickly we will be getting ready - our squad for another try at securing promotion to the Premier League, our key ambition, so we don't have any intention of selling Lewis who has been, and remains, a key a part of our squad."
it's not clear if it was Palace who honestly made the rejected bid, but both means, the Eagles' probabilities of landing Dunk don't appear chiefly excellent now.
