Chelsea gave the impression to be staring defeat within the face as they trailed at Watford with 10 minutes to move, but for the 2nd half Diego Costa both escaped a red card and scored a late winner.
Watford broke the deadlock 10 minutes after 1/2-time. Nordin Amrabat received the better of Cesar Azpilicueta and crossed deep into the field, the ball went over Troy Deeney but fell kindly for Etienne Capoue whose first time shot flew into the net. After failing to score in 36 games for the membership, he now has two in two video games.
Costa was again lucky to flee being sent off for 2 yellow playing cards. Having been sent off within the first half, he perceived to produce a clear dive external the field but referee Jon Moss decided to take no motion.
Moments later Moss angered Chelsea, when he refused to provide a penalty for handball by way of Craig Cathcart.
Chelsea discovered the equaliser. Eden Hazard had the initial effort on goal, but Heurelho Gomes could not keep on to the ball and substitute Michy Batshuayi popped as much as score his first intention for the membership.
And the winner got here three minutes from full time as an additional sub, Cesc Fabregas, threaded Costa through on purpose and he made no mistake.
